Of the many accomplishments that can be attributed to John
Daly, far and above, his most satisfying one has to be the children that he raised. While married twice,
John Daly had six children.
His first marriage was to Margaret Criswell Neale, on January
7, 1936. From that marriage, John had these three children:
- John Neale Daly, born November 14, 1937,
- John Charles Daly, born December l, 1940, and,
- Helene Grant Fitzgerald, born June 2, 1945.
When John remarried, his second marriage was to Virginia
Warren. Virginia was the daughter of Earl Warren, U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice. John's marriage to Virginia took
place on December 22nd, 1960. His children were named as follows:
- John Warren Daly, born October 29, 1962,
- John Earl Jameson Daly, born September 23, 1963, and,
- Nina Elizabeth Daly, born November 18, 1965.
Many of the Daly children have college degrees. John himself
had several, one being that of LLD. I've noticed a few of his sons have a degree in a similar field, theirs being LLB.
While John was gracious on screen and made quite an impression on his many fans, it's obvious as a Father, he made quite an
impression on his children, and taught them the importance of getting a good education.
